My Take : Lakme Nine To Five Defining EyeLiner

Lakme sent this eye liner as a replacement for the atrocious eye defining pencil more than a week back (A Lakme Change Of Heart) and ever since Ive been using it regularly and thinking this baby deserves a review.

What It Claims?
A color intense formula, with beautiful soft-color effects that will not budge even in the evening. This eyeliner glides on smoothly and easily, for a well-defined look that lasts all day.

Shades Available:

Price:
Rs 299 for 0.35 gm

The Good:
  1. It is worthy of being part of the Nine To Five range because it does stay on from nine in the morning to five in the evening on the upper eye line and the waterline.
  2. Is waterproof. You can even wash your face without upsetting the color.
  3. Does not smudge to give you raccoon eyes.
  4. Glides on easily without tugging.
  5. Is retractable which is an added advantage in the morning when sharpening is out of the question.
  6. This is a life saver early in the morning when I'm late and just a swipe gives me great results. The color payoff is awesome.
The Bad:
  1. The pencil is really soft and fragile and has to handled with care.
  2. Being waterproof also has its disadvantages and in this case removing the eyeliner is damn frustrating.Even after repeated efforts some residue will always remain.
  3. Since it is retractable the problem of hygiene is always there.Though as long as you are not sharing the product you should be fine.
  4. While applying because of its soft texture more than required product is applied resulting in a darker application always.

Current Compare:
Before Lakme I was using the NYX Long Eye Pencil in black and was pretty satisfied with it.The staying power of NYX  is a decent 3-4 hours which is good enough but Lakme scores over it in the lasting department.Plus Lakme is waterproof. But since getting the Lakme eye liner off my eyes is such a pain in the neck I prefer NYX for my everyday needs and use.

Love It Or Chuck It?
Love it.Lakme has won my heart not only by their big hearted gesture but by the product too.I'm definitely planning on buying more shades and a black back-up.I'm crossing my fingers that they won't  tamper with it.
