The Good

• In the jar the powder looks chunky and scary, but once blended onto skin it imparts a beautiful glow.
• The powder blends seamlessly onto skin without being patchy.
• The shade is a bang one for my skin tone.It gives a healthy sun kissed glow without being too over the top.Also it claims to suit all skin tones,  and judging by the shade I'll definitely back that claim.
• Moderately priced for the given quantity.Plus shipping is really cheap too.
• Since it's meant for oily skin it has fantastic lasting powers.It normally lasts for about 3-4 hours easily in the sweltering heat.And the best part is that it fades uniformly unlike other products wherein the colour fades leaving behind horrible shimmer.
• The shimmer is very subtle, just enough to give life to the flat bronze which is awesome since it catches light in a very cleaver manner to make your skin glow.
• The packaging is pretty sturdy and the sifter dispenses the right amount of product.
• Great for contouring since it's in powder form and amount of product can be easily controlled. 
• Can be mixed with foundation and moisturizer to create a lovely tinted moisturizer.The bronzer gives the moisturizer warmth and the shimmer looks really pretty when blended into skin.Great for use as a self tanner.
• Contains minerals which make it extremely safe for your skin. 

The Bad

• Only available online.
• Though I love the shimmery bronze colour, it might be a little too much for everyday use.
• Since it's in powder form its very easy to go overboard with the application, something I learnt the hard way ;)

Love It Or Chuck It
Love the beautiful colour and the fact that it blends so beautifully onto skin.This is the first bronzer I've used since the scary bronzy glittery colours always put me off.But this one shines through your skin all shimmer and glitter inc.This will definitely figure in my all time fave face products.A must have for any makeup enthusiastic.

The Good

• Super moisturizing, it instantly hydrates parched skin.
• Has a lovely balmy texture as opposed to a creamy texture which spreads easily.

• The moisturizer is quite concentrated so you need a teeny tiny amount for your entire face specially if you have normal to combination skin.
• Smells wonderful.
• It's excellent as a night cream because of it's consistency and hydrating prowess.At first I was using this in the morning but I recently switched to using it at night and ever since I always wake up to super soft skin.
• I had a few dry spots on my cheeks and temples which were making me go crazy and this moisturizer took care of it easily.It did require a few applications but it did the trick.
• Even though it has a thick consistency it did not make me break out.
• Because of it's consistency it might be a great substitute for a flash balm when mixed with highlighter (loads of dupes churning in my head!) .
• Calling it Skin Repair Moisturizer is apt since it not only takes care of dry spots it also soothes sun burnt skin and minor rashes.
• Natural ingredients.

The Bad

• Takes a while to get absorbed by the skin.
• Although it's meant for normal to combination skin I did find it a tad too oily.Though that has been rectified by substituting it as a night cream, a feat at which it excels.
• The price is a little steep (around Rs 1300), but considering you need a small quantity, the 50 gm jar might not be too expensive in the long run.
• Does not contain SPF, which does not bother me much since I primarily use it as a night cream.

Love It Or Chuck It
Totally love the yummy smelling balmy texture.Though I'm using the moisturizer exclusively as a night cream I do plan to stow it away to use in the winters when it's going to show it's true moisturizing power.I do wish it were a bit less expensive and more accessible since I figure this will prove to be a friend indeed during the harsh winters.Love it and Love Liz Earle for coming up with such amazing products.

Quick Fix: 5 Ways To Get Rid Of Greasy Hair In A Jiffy

ONE: Cornflour
Cornflour works as a dry shampoo.The reason it's called dry shampoo is because you don't need to rinse the shampoo after using it.The cornflour acts as an absorbent - it soaks up the grease residue on the hair, leaving the hair looking clean.

Store cornflour(used to thicken gravies) in a salt shaker and sprinkle on greasy hair roots generously.Wait for a few minutes and then comb through.Dust off excess using a towel.

TWO: Hand Sanitizer
I know I'm obsessed with hand sanitizers but I have every reason to specially since these are so versatile(read how to clean makeup brushes using hand sanitizer here)The alcohol content in the hand sanitizer will help absorb excess oil and freshen up your hair.

Pour some on the palm of your hands and dip your fingers in it and then massage the sanitizer onto greasy hair roots.The alcohol based product will make your hair less greasy and will vaporize quickly without the need to wash off.

THREE: Perfume
This is the yummiest smelling way to get rid of greasy hair.And the reason behind using a perfume is again the alcohol content in it.

Spritz perfume onto greasy hair roots from about 2-3 inches away.Using your fingers blend the perfume into the roots.You could also use this as a hair freshener apart from an effective quick fix for greasy hair.

FOUR: Toner/Astringent
Toners and astringents are notorious for their alcohol content which might be a bad thing for your skin but just might be a blessing in disguise for limp and greasy hair.If you're using toners strictly for your greasy hair woes then I'd recommend buying the cheapest one available since it will have a higher alcohol percentage.

There are two ways to go about it.Either you can store the toner in a spritzer and use it like you would a perfume on hair roots or you could pour some onto a cotton ball and rub it onto greasy spots to eliminate oil.Both work excellently to get rid of oily hair.

FIVE: Wet Wipes
Wet wipes do seem like a weird way to get rid of greasy hair but if you look closely at the ingredient list you might think again.Wet wipes contain the magic ingredient to get rid of greasy hair: Alcohol.And the best part about this method is that it works not only on greasy hair roots but also limp strands because of its form.

Take a wet wipe and rub it all along greasy hair strands and roots.In fact scrub as vigorously as possible.Let it dry naturally and voila! greasy hair is history.


These quick fixes provide an easy way to get rid of limp greasy hair instantly, although these should not be substituted for shampooing (I can hear the lazy and mighty groaning!) and should be used in moderation.Alcohol which is the key ingredient here in majority of the tricks, though great at getting rid of oily roots might also strip your hair of natural oils so tread with caution.If you suffer from extremely oily hair I recommend washing your hair every other day and using less conditioners and other hair products.Having said that I hope that these 5 fixes will prove helpful.

My Take: Avon Pomegranate & Chocolate Foot Cream

What It Claims
Give your feet a sweet pomegranate and chocolate treat! This rich cream moisturizes and smoothes winter dry skin leaving feet silky soft and fragrant.
To Use: Apply to clean dry feet.Massage cream into skin until absorbed, focussing on rough spots.Reapply as needed.

The Good

• Smells delicious.It's more chocolaty than pomegranaty but hey that's exactly what I expected.
• Does not have a very creamy texture which makes it absorb quickly into the skin.
• Maybe it's the fragrance, I'm not sure but the cream prevents smelly feet.Normally on my gym runs a combination of sneakers, socks and sweat make my feet smell horrible, but every time I used this cream my feet, though didn't smell fresh but weren't smelly either.

The Bad

• It claims to moisturize feet but it isn't moisturizing enough.I guess it's due to the fact that the cream is light weight and not creamy enough.
• It does not smooth rough spots.I can still feel calluses after using it.I have been regularly using it for a long time and it hasn't had any extraordinary effect on the softness of my feet.Some yes but that can easily be achieved by any moisturizing cream.
• Overpriced for a foot cream.A tube of Boroline which costs about 20 bucks would do a much better job.
• Only available via Avon reps.Which might not be a bad thing considering how lame the product is.

Love It Or Chuck It

I know this seems like a very short review but I haven't enough good things to say about it nor do I have enough bad things to say.I had loads of hopes for this product and it disappointed very badly.I do love the fresh chocolaty fragrance but I'll Chuck It any given day for Oriflame's Soothing foot cream (read review), which is not only super moisturizing but smells lovely too.

Vaseline Petroleum Jelly, the humble jar of petroleum jelly that was discovered over 150 years ago has become an integral part of our daily lives today. It was originally discovered to be of medicinal use during World War II, when it was used to treat minor cuts and burns. This wonder product has today become a household, medicinal and even beauty staple with multiple uses!

Vaseline Petroleum Jelly undergoes a three step purification process which involves hydrogenation and double filtration, thus resulting in the purest form of petroleum jelly. Over time, this versatile product has become widely known for its excellent skin moisturization properties, as it forms a protective layer on the skin and traps in all the skin’s natural moisture.

It's amazing how many things you can do with one little jar of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.Consumers have discovered unique and innumerable uses for this marvellous product! 5. Rub Vaseline on and around your nails before applying nail paint, to prevent nail paint from sticking to your cuticles.Plus the nail paint also applies better when nail is coated with Vaseline.

7. Apply a generous coat of Vaseline on your lips and then using your regular toothbrush exfoliate your lips to reveal softer and smoother lips.Do this once every two days and you'll be rid of chapped lips forever.

14. Combine Vaseline with loose eye shadow and some cornstarch to make a cream eye shadow.You could also apply Vaseline directly onto your lids and then apply eye shadow.The Vaseline acts as an excellent eye gloss.

The Good

• It delivers on it's promise of keeping your face shine free almost all day long.
• It has a lovely texture which spreads easily using a powder puff, flocked sponge, kabuki or a fluffy powder brush.

• The formula is pretty light and will not weigh heavy or cakey on your skin.It blends beautifully and gives a natural finish.
• Contains natural ingredients which are pretty adept at controlling oily skin.
• Though the powder looks a ghastly white in the container it applies translucent.The trick is to buff it properly using a fluffy powder brush or a flocked sponge.

• Gives a matte finish without looking over the top unlike tinted powders.
• The lasting power is pretty decent and I don't have to worry about constant touch ups.Depending on the weather and my crazy skin temperament, this lasts anywhere between 4-6 hours easily.
• It can double up as a primer for your eyes as well as your face.In fact I apply it both before and after my foundation and my base stays put forever.
• Did not irritate my skin which is pretty sensitive these days.Nor did it cause any breakouts which is my primary concern when it comes to powders of any kind.
• A little quality is adequate for covering the entire face specially if you are using a brush.On hotter days I apply using a flocked sponge which gives better oil absorption and even then I don't use a lot of product.
• Contains Titanium Dioxide which acts as a sunscreen.

The Bad

• Although it's excellent for mattifying your skin, I doubt the blurring fine lines and cleaning pores claims.Not because I don't trust the product, but simply because logic dictates that a face powder is not capable of such tall claims.Yes the powder is very light and blends easily without accentuating fine lines and pores but it won't camouflage them anytime soon.
• At 12.99 I found it a bit on the expensive side but considering how awesome it is I'll happily loosen my purse strings.
• Since I'm fair skinned the powder blended beautifully on my skin tone but I have my doubts about darker skin tones.They have come up with a tinted version of the powder which would be more suitable for darker skin tones.Though the powder is easy to buff and blend it would merge with darker skin tone if used sparingly.
• Though the packaging is pretty sturdy and the sifter dispenses the right amount of product, I wish it also came in a travel friendly compact version for easy on the go touch-ups. 
• Only available online which for me is the worst part because that means long waiting periods.

Love It Or Chuck It
The humid season had me and my skin in a horrible meltdown before this wonder product.That's past ever since I started using Mattify Ultra.It's not your regular run of the mill translucent powder but it's a beauty product endowed with super makeup powers.It sets your makeup, keeps shine at bay and doubles up as an excellent primer.What more could you ask for in a face powder?And to top it all of it's super skin friendly made with natural ingredients.You'll love it and your skin will most definitely love it.

The Good

• It is free from alcohol which is the vice for most of the toners currently available in the market.No alcohol means that it won't leave your skin dry and patchy.
• It leaves behind a layer of moisturize which prepares the skin for further moisturization.At times I can also skip the moisturizer which would be a big no no with other toners.
• It is indeed heavenly scented.The lovely floral fragrance wakes you up in  a jiffy.
• Naming it Skin Boost tonic is very apt since it definitely gives your skin a boost specially when you use it in the morning right after waking up.
• The packaging is pretty smart.The lid screws open to reveal a spout which dispenses adequate amount of liquid without spilling.It also comes with a spritzer which I'm sure would be even better than the screw lid bottle.

• It did not irritate my skin unlike other toners which leave behind a tingling sensation.It actually refreshed my skin.
• I'm obsessed with clean skin and the toner is great for using after cleansing to take care of any residual grime.In fact I use it religiously after washing my face and every time the cotton is left with some kinda grime from my face, not much but enough to satisfy my clean skin fetish.
• Judging from the consistency of the toner I'm sure it will work great as a makeup fixer.I haven't got a spritzer yet to try it out as a fixer, but will get back once I do.
• It can double up as a makeup remover.Since it's a bit more concentrated than other toners it traps makeup better and wipes it off your face without leaving skin too dry.
• Contains natural ingredients and my all time favourite aloe vera.
• No animal testing.

The Bad

• Although the price is totally justified, it is still a bit expensive.
• Only available online.
• If you have extremely oily skin the sticky residue left behind might bother you.Though I would recommend using the toner with a damp cotton instead of a dry one to prevent the stickiness.

Love It Or Chuck It
  
I love using toners simply because most of them smell so fresh.However I've never been able to use them to my heart's content since most of them dried out my skin.Enter Liz Earle Instant Skin Boost Tonic and all my toner woes are past tense.It's everything a toner should be: refreshing, gentle and invigorating.Most reviews I read complained that the toner left a sticky layer behind which actually for me is the best part about it.My skin these days is in pretty bad shape and I'm finding it impossible to find products that suit me, but this toner has definitely taken care of the toner department.For me this is definitely one beauty product that I cannot survive without.Love It. A perfect second step to the Hot Cloth Cleanser.

My Take: Maybelline Wonder Finish Liquid To Powder Foundation In Nude

What It Claims

• Beautifully flawless skin in one step! Liquid foundation covers perfectly turning into a weightless powder finish.
• Ultra lightweight liquid formula provides a comfortable natural and long lasting makeup result.
• Transfer and sweat resistant, all day wear.
• Silicone based formula contains triple action complex of antioxidants, vitamins A and E, as well as moisturizers.

The Good

• It is pretty lightweight and does not weigh heavy on skin.
• When applied using Sigma F80, gives a wonderful air brushed look.
• Great for giving skin an even tone without looking too heavy.
• Contains SPF.

The Bad

• Cannot and will not withstand sweat, which makes it pretty useless for the humid seasons.Within 5 minutes of applying it starts melting and mingling with sweat.Worse it will transfer onto your clothes if you're not careful.
• Because it is a liquid to powder finish foundation it will not suit dry skin.But surprisingly it didn't do much for oily skin either.The foundation settled into my pores and made them worse.And within the hour my face was shiny.
• The application is pretty streaky, especially if you apply using your fingers since it dries up really quickly.It most definitely does not blend easily.
• Coverage is pretty medium, nothing to gloat about.
• Every store I visited was out of shades and nude was the only shade they had.This shade does suit my skin tone but I would have preferred a choice between other shades.(I bought this almost 4-5 months back since then they have discontinued most of the shades and now have only fawn and nude)
• Considering all things I found the price a bit steep for a product that promises a lot but fails to deliver.

Love It Or Chuck It
Maybelline has won me over lately with their Colossal Mascara, Dream Mousse Blush and Gel Eyeliner so I bought this expecting it to live up to the legacy of great makeup at economical prices.Unfortunately I was highly disappointed.This foundation recommended for oily skin was an absolute waste of money.I did not provide any coverage, made my skin oily and could not withstand the humid monsoon season and simply slipped off my face.A colossal disappointment if anything which is too bad since they have such an amazing product range when it comes to nail paints,eyeliners, mascara and almost about everything else.This one though I'm totally Chucking.

What would an ordinary girl, down and out with flu do?Stay in bed, indulge in fluids and sappy black and white movies(my personal favourite being Roman Holiday).Maybe.But I never aimed to be ordinary.So a while back(this post has been long overdue!) when I got flued, the only thing I wanted to do was shop.Maybe to break the movie rut or maybe because I’m a certified shopaholic.

So my mom who has become wise in the ways of the Internet these days told me: “Shop online na.” But if you’ve ever been in the league of the extraordinary shopaholics you know that shopping online just ain't the same.So I got outta bed and got haulin', nothing fancy but just some random stuff.

Never tried Fab India beauty products before.They do have quite few great products but since I've never tried anything before I decided to play safe.

I knew the high from my shopping trip would soon die and I would return to sappy movies.So to give my DVD Player a break for it's own good I got the book.For some odd reason I never saw the movie, and the book seemed interesting.
