Shopping For Cosmetics Online

I got bitten by the makeup bug recently and the credit goes to the plethora of beauty and makeup blogs over the internet.I used to be a kajal and lip balm person but my metamorphosis included the lure of names like MAC,NYX,Nars,Urban Decay and Elf.And that was awesome with a teeny problem. How to get my hands on them?
So I turned to google and was surprised to find that many women turn to online shopping to satiate their makeup needs and I was also introduced to NYX.I must say it is a very popular brand not only because its cheap but boasts quality rivaling MAC.Reading rave reviews of NYX round lippies and the Jumbo pencil I was a person obsessed.
But to be very honest I was very skeptical about ordering online.I'm actually very paranoid about my Visa.Eventually though my desire won over paranoia and I gave in but not before conducting a thorough research, which I will share with you today.
There are a variety of such websites but only a handful ship to India.I have bought from two of them and being the cynic that I am I ordered stuff worth only a 1000 bugs from each.So lets get down to them:
Cherry Culture www.cherryculture.com
It is based in California started in 2006 and the most popular among its contemporaries in the US as well as internationally.Just google “cherry culture haul” to get an idea of its popularity. That is why I chose this for my first ever online shopping destination and I was not disappointed.Well until my next purchase.I ordered

Rules of Use : Natural Makeup

Nothing is more beautiful than natural beauty.Natural makeup is a rage all over because not only it suits most skin, complexion and face type it is suitable for all ages.It can be worn any time of the day and can be toned down for a day of shopping at the mall or worked up for a hot date.Natural look means fresh and glowing skin with highlighted features achieved without a mortal combat with makeup. So here's a breakdown of key steps to achieve the perfect natural look.

1. Clean
Obviously you will wash your face before applying makeup but instead of using your regular face wash use a scrub.Run outta scrub or wanna try something natural? Use a tablespoon of gram flour and a pinch of turmeric mixed with water and gently massage using circular motion concentrating on problem areas.Wash it off. This will help remove tan and reveal glowing skin.Next apply moisturizer while face is still wet.If you have oily skin, dab rose water using cotton instead.Have extra time on hand use your fave face pack to indulge your skin after scrubbing.Remember your face is a canvas on which you work so a squeaky clean moisturized skin will not only enhance your makeup but also help it to stay longer.

2. Camouflage
Natural look means natural glowing skin minus blemishes, spots, under eye circles and other imperfections. So treat concealer like your best friend.Use a brush or your ring finger, dot it and blend well.Don't want to invest in a concealer?Well concealer is a thicker version of your foundation.I usually fill my empty lip balm jar with my foundation and keep it in the fridge for it to thicken and use it as a concealer.Works like magic.
Shade: A tone darker than your foundation.

3. Cover
Use foundation next to even out your skin and create a base.A foundation is a must to achieve a natural look

My Take : NYX Long Pencil Eye

NYX Long Pencil eyeliner reviewMuch has been said and written about the NYX Jumbo Pencil but today I'm going to talk about the NYX long pencil eyeliner, Jumbo's little and unknown cousin though not that little. It is basically an eyeliner in pencil form and true to its name is longer than most of its contemporaries.

It is available in 6 shades though 3 of them are variations of brown. Currently not listed on the NYX website, the eye pencils are available on CherryCulture and ShopCraze(only 1 shade Silver available).

Rules Of Use : Short Hair

Come summers and monsoons and you see an upsurge in short hair-dos cos of the low maintainability factor. I've had long hair for almost 10 years now but recently got a nice cute short do at the insistence of my sister and the sweltering heat. And yes I do agree on the maintainability factor but the transition from long to short was full of twists and turns. So today I'll share some tips.

1.Splurge
Short Hair is all about style so invest in the cut and go to a good stylist who will give you a haircut that suits your face and hair texture.

2.Wash Regularly
Shorter hair means oil from your scalp travels quickly to the tips of your hair making your hair look oily even if you have dry hair and the problem gets aggravated in monsoons.Limp and oily hair will never hold style and totally destroy the glam fac that made you get the haircut in the first place.Wash hair at least twice a day and keep styling products to a minimum and most importantly use conditioner only on the tips.Best bet is to use a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. My recommendation Avon Healthy Shine 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner.

3.Maintain
Short hair needs to be pruned and cared for on a regular basis.Deep Conditioning regularly goes a long way to keep your hair in good condition and it can be easily done at home without fuss.Simply take your fave conditioner and mix a light hair oil like olive oil and apply on wet hair.Wrap your hair in plastic and cover with shower cap.Let it sit for a half hour and shampoo as usual.

So that's it keep it short and keep it cool.
